Brandon Riker Announces Intent to Run for Congress in the District Representing Palm Springs

The Path to Taking Back the House Majority Runs Through Palm Springs

Palm Springs, CA — Today, Brandon Riker, businessman and entrepreneur, reaffirmed his commitment to seek election to represent Palm Springs in the United States House of Representatives in 2026, stating that he will run for the seat regardless of redistricting efforts.

“Palm Springs is my community, where I have built my life and I am proud to call it my home. . Wherever the new lines fall, I will run to represent the people of Palm Springs in Congress,” said Riker. “Redistricting can change maps, but it doesn’t change who I fight for. Palm Springs deserves a representative who shows up for the community. As we await the decision of California voters, our campaign is building a grassroots movement focused on solving the affordability crisis facing California, protecting social security, Medicare and Medicaid, and ending the reckless economic policies that are exploding our national debt and accelerating inflation. I look forward to continuing to share that message with both friends and neighbors who have been part of this campaign, and voters we have yet to reach.”

This announcement follows the release of draft California Congressional District maps by Governor Gavin Newsom and State Legislative Leadership as part of a ballot measure that will be voted on in a November 4, 2025 special election.

Riker emphasized that he is building a campaign to win, raising over $1,000,000 from over 4,500 donors in the four months since launching his campaign. His strong fundraising performance reflects the enthusiasm behind his campaign and firmly positions Riker as the best candidate to flip a must-win House seat for Democrats in 2026.

He’s also committed to meeting people where they are—in their neighborhoods, at community centers, local businesses, and union halls, and has already hosted over 60 listening tour events, sat down for more than 200 one-on-one conversations, and held multiple halls to ensure every voice in CA-41 is heard. He will continue organizing, fundraising, and meeting voters in the district containing Palm Springs.

Brandon Riker is a fourth-generation Californian, entrepreneur, and trained economist. California’s 41st District was a top Red-to-Blue target for Democrats in both 2022 and 2024. With Riker’s early fundraising strength and a growing base of grassroots support, both the current 41st District and the new 48th District are top pick-up opportunities for Democrats in 2026.
